This 16 hour course in collaboration with Ecole National du Cirque and Concordia University offers new approaches to pedagogy, including holistic approaches to teaching and learning. Rhizomic teaching, learning through practice, circle pedagogy, and horizontal environments are themes covered, accompanied by a 4 hour practicum in play based learning.
This course focuses on developing horizontal environments based on mutual respect and equality, fostering creativity and healthy identity formation. This course prepares students to teach in marginalized communities, work with neurodivergent students, and adopt reflexivity in their teaching practice.
An equal amount of attention is payed to developing soft skills and adaptability within teaching environments.
